About

I've been a builder all my life. I built my first tree house when I was 12 years old, and have enjoyed building everything from bikes, to houses, to campers, to boats to surfboards. I love designing and creating new things.

My interest in building surfboards evolved from my love of surfing. I started surfing when I was 16, and immediately took an interest in how different boards performed, and why. What works on one board may not work on another. As I began shaping surfboards, I looked forward to the creative process of trying new ideas, and then testing them out in the water to see what I liked, and didn't like, about these different board shapes and designs. 

Living in Capitola, California, my family and I are extremely fortunate to have the ocean just down the street. I enjoy everything ocean-related. I paddle board, kayak, surf and swim in the ocean, and designing surfboards is a natural extension of my love for the ocean and riding waves.
